HIGHSPUR comes from wanting to make something different, in an art I hadn't explored yet: independent, artisanal perfumery. I've enjoyed every kind of art, from drawing to painting, and I wanted to work with a different sense. That's what led me to perfumery, to cologne, and to HIGHSPUR. The name comes from the same drive: pick a direction, stay highly motivated, and do the thing.

HIGH is ambition, the standard you hold yourself to. SPUR is the action that moves you toward it. The belief behind the name is simple: I've always trusted what people do over what they say. The work you put in and the way you carry yourself are what give your presence its substance.

I started HIGHSPUR for men who move with purpose, and I began with fragrance because I wanted to make something that smells good, feels distinctive, and becomes part of how a man presents himself. Some of that comes from my time working in a social club, among carefully made cocktails and rooms meant for lingering: the warmth of bourbon, the citrus of an orange peel twisted over a glass, the smoke of burnt cedarwood. I wasn't trying to bottle a drink, only the feeling of those rooms.

In rodeo, the rough stock are the bucking horses and bulls. The name holds a tension I recognize: raw instinct, carried with control. Those are its roots, but ROUGH STOCK is made for a clean, well-groomed, contemporary man, at home in an intimate lounge, a speakeasy, or an evening out. It's straightforward and bold, refined without needing to prove anything, and something that feels like yours.

I created ROUGH STOCK myself, from the first idea to the finished scent. The bottle, the label, the shirts and this site are held to the same standard: black and white, simple lines, nothing excessive, everything intentional. If it can't be explained in one calm sentence, it doesn't get made.

The strongest things don't need to raise their voice. I want to make things with enough character to stay with you.
